Though this site isn't just for role-playing, I can understand that it will be a big part of it. However, you may be new to role-playing. Don't let that get you down!
Number one! Although, this isn't a necessarily advanced site, a lot of the players are. This means, please try your hardest to have long posts. A lot of the RP Masters don't really care how long, but it is a good rule to follow. Short posts don't give other players a lot to respond to, so it may become annoying to the others.
Number two! If a players character has a thing against yours, don't take it personally! They aren't trying to be mean or anything, it's just to add to the drama of the role play!
Number three! Number one may be a bit hard to follow if you've never played an RPG before, let me ellaborate. Instead of having a chat room type thing where you put asterics around actions and just type what your character says, go into detail. This would be just describing what your character thinks and does.
Number four! Use correct grammar and spelling! I know typing lyk ths is easier, but it gets annoying quickly, and you may be kicked out of the RP, or shunned by the other players
Number five! Keep it interesting, but don't post constantly. Even if you don't mean to, it will leave others in the dust, and they won't particularly enjoy that.
And lastly,
Number six! Keep up with the plot, and read what other players post! How can, say Ellie, do something if, say Bri, prevents her from doing it! If Bri posts that she forbade Ellie from getting a tattoo of Bri's dog and locked Ellie away, Ellie can't just waltz into a tattoo parlor and get a tattoo of Dusty!
I know, this guide isn't very good. I didn't have much time, and most of what you should know and follow by will be as a rule in the RP you join! If you have any questions, PM me or post it on this thread We will all be willing to help you if you have troubles
